Rwanda Peace Baskets are handwoven from sisal, raffia and sweetgrass and dyed with natural, vegetable dyes. Consisting of literally hundreds of stitches, the patterns of these baskets tell ancient stories and now stand as symbols of peace and reconciliation in a country rebuilding itself after the genocide.

These baskets are expertly handwoven by women from a fair trade weaving cooperative in a small village near Volcanoes National Park. Ethically-sourced, the sale of these baskets provide sustainable income for Rwandans while conserving the habitat of Rwandan mountain gorillas.
